ABOUT THE CONGRESS
This year’s theme,” MICROBIOLOGY AND BIOTECHNOLOGY: ADAPTING TO THE CHANGING MICROBIAL WORLD” highlights the importance of microbiology and biotechnology in our daily lives. Indeed, these sciences have risen to the challenges of the times from combatting disease to providing food on the table to giving us clothing and shelter. However, because the world is always changing the science must also be dynamic and anticipate future scenarios of a larger world population and its added repercussions.
With this in mind, the Philippine Society for Microbiology, Inc. will convene scientists and experts in their respective fields for its 41st Annual Convention and Scientific Meeting in Cagayan de Oro City on May 10 and 11, 2012. Experts from all over the world have been invited to share how their researches are contributing towards a sustainable world. The Convention also provides a venue for local experts to share their most recent breakthroughs in microbiology and biotechnology through poster and oral technical paper sessions as well as renew ties with colleagues from the academe and industry
