The Philippine Society for Microbiology, Inc. (PSM), in coordination with the Microbiology Consortium of the Philippines, Inc. (MCP), opens its application for a one-day training workshop titled “Molecular Detection of Foodborne Pathogens for Food Safety” on March 14, 2025 at the DOST – Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI) laboratory facility. This workshop aims to equip participants with practical skills in microbiological and molecular detection methods for foodborne pathogens, aligning with the PSM Cluster 1 symposium’s theme, “Transforming Food Systems for Planetary Health through Microbial Solutions.”
Training fees, laboratory materials, and food (lunch) will be free of charge for the participants. Certificates will be issued to participants after completing the workshop. Because of limited slots, workshop participants will be selected via a competitive screening procedure. The cohort of successful applicants will be announced on March 3, 2025, to allow them to register for the PSM Cluster 1 symposium proper to be held on March 15, 2025, at the Clinical and Translational Research Institute, The Medical City, Pasig City, Metro Manila.
*Priority will be given to member Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) of the MCP.
