ABOUT THE GRANT
The ESCO-PSM Basic Research Grant for New Researchers aims to encourage early-career Filipino researchers to pursue research aligned with the divisions of microbiology recognized by the Philippine Society for Microbiology, Inc. These divisions include Agricultural, Aquatic, Environmental, Food, Industrial, Medical, and Veterinary Microbiology. Specifically, the grant project supports basic research aimed at expanding knowledge of fundamental concepts in microbiology, without immediate emphasis on practical or commercial applications.
FUNDING: Maximum of PHP 100,000.00 from ESCO Philippines
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE GRANT
Junior Faculty/Researchers who apply for the Grant must:
- be a Filipino full-time faculty or researcher with access to a laboratory in a college/university or research institution in the Philippines;
- be a member of the Philippine Society for Microbiology, Inc.;
- be at least an MSc degree holder;
- have been involved in a research project as project staff;
- have no ongoing research project involvement; and
- not have been a grantee of any research grant amounting to P100,000.00 or greater as a Project Leader or co-Project Leader.
