Board Resolution No. 2025-2
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE POSTPONEMENT AND FORMAT CHANGE OF THE PSM 54th ANNUAL CONVENTION AND SCIENTIFIC MEETING FROM JULY 24–25, 2025 TO AUGUST 28–29, 2025, AND THE ADOPTION OF A HYBRID FORMAT FOR THE EVENT
WHEREAS, the Philippine Society for Microbiology, Inc. Board convened last July 23, 2025 to discuss the logistical and safety concerns brought about by the recent inclement weather conditions in Metro Manila;
WHEREAS, the PSM 54th Annual Convention and Scientific Meeting, originally scheduled for July 24–25, 2024, must be rescheduled to ensure the safety and convenience of all participants, especially those traveling from the provinces;
WHEREAS, the Board recognizes the necessity of making the convention more accessible and inclusive given current circumstances;
WHEREAS, it is now proposed that the new dates of the convention be moved to August 28–29, 2024, and that the event be held in a hybrid
format, combining both onsite and online participation options;
NOW, THEREFORE, on motion duly made and seconded, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of the Philippine Society for Microbiology, Inc. hereby approves the following:
• The official rescheduling of the PSM 54th Annual Convention and Scientific Meeting from July 24–25, 2025 to August 28–29, 2025.
• The implementation of a hybrid format, wherein participants may attend either in person or virtually through a designated online
platform.
• All concerned committees and personnel are hereby directed to take the necessary steps to facilitate the changes and inform all
participants, speakers, and partners accordingly.
RESOLVED FURTHER, that this resolution be made part of the official
records of the organization and disseminated to all stakeholders.
