The Philippine Society for Microbiology Inc. and Esco Philippines, Inc., recently signed a memorandum of agreement to help promote microbiology and stimulate advancements in science, and contribute to society through practical applications of microbiological concepts. The signing took place last November 12, 2016 at Far Eastern University.

PSM was represented by President Dr. Benigno Glenn R. Ricaforte, while Chairman Lim Ley Yew represented Esco . Esco Global manufactures and distributes various laboratory equipment including biological safety cabinets, incubators, ultra-low temperature freezers, and thermal cyclers. Also present during the signing were members of the PSM Board of Directors and Ms. Roanna Galang from Esco Philippines. Under the agreement Esco Philippines will provide financial support in the preparation for the Annual Convention and Cluster Symposia. The financial assistance is also expected to support the thesis work of undergraduate and graduate students.
