The paper entitled “Predictive model as basis for health education in preventing river bank community parasitism” was adjudged as the sole winner in National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) Technical Poster competition for Cluster 1 (Educational, Governmental and International Policies) last March 13, 2013 at the historic Manila Hotel. The paper was authored by Donna May D. Papa (UST College of Science), Gil Cauyan (UST College of Science) and Supachai A. Basit (EAC School of Medical Technology). Papa and Basit are the incumbent Medical Microbiology Division Representative and President of PSM, respectively. They were able to formulate a predictive model for the occurrence of parasitism among the subjects residing near the Pasig River bank. The study was funded by the UST-CHED Zonal Research Center.
